Mini Countryman windshield wipers dead
Summary of the thread
The windshield wipers on a 2012 Mini Countryman were non-functional, with a diagnostic tool indicating an error related to the wipers. The issue was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem was resolved by checking the wiring harness around the steering column, specifically inside the steering column shroud. The solution involved professional repair of a faulty wiring harness connection to the wiper switch, restoring the wipers' functionality.

Interesting. When you say 'around the steering column', are we talking inside the steering column shroud, or further down the wiring harness?

Yes, mine was inside the steering column shroud, affecting both the windshield wipers and turn signal. I tried to fix it myself, but ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed it was a chafed wiring harness. Best to get it checked professionally, in my opinion.

Appreciate the insight. Ended up at the shop, and you were spot on. Faulty wiring harness connection to the wiper switch. 95€ later, wipers are working again. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my Countryman's car wipers. Turn signal was also acting up intermittently. Have you checked the wiring harness around the steering column? Could be a loose or damaged connection there. It's a common problem, apparently. Also, did you check the fuse?
