Mini One Car Mirror Heating Issue

Alright, I'm having some trouble with the car mirror heating on my 2019 Mini One diesel. Basically, the car mirror heating isn't working at all. I've scanned the error memory, and it's showing an error related to the car mirror heating. From what I've read, the likely culprit is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm trying to gauge whether it's worth tackling myself, or if I should just take it to a workshop. I'm estimating around 95€ for a repair. It's a safety issue with winter driving approaching.

I had a similar problem with my car mirror heating last winter! Was super annoying. Have you checked the fuses? Sometimes it's just a blown fuse, and it's an easy fix. Does the error message give any more detail than just 'defective'?

Good shout about the fuses, that's something I should have checked. I did look, but couldn't immediately identify one specifically for the car mirror heating in the fuse box diagram. Is there one you know of specifically? And no, the error message unfortunately isn't any more specific than just "defective".

Yeah, I didn't find a specific fuse either, to be honest. In my case, it ended up being the plug connection inside the car mirror housing itself. If you're not comfortable taking the car mirror apart, I'd probably just bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. It's not worth messing with car electronics if you're not sure what you're doing.

Just an update I went to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective plug connection, as suspected. They took care of it, and now my car mirror heating is working perfectly again. The cost was exactly as predicted. Thanks again for your help!
