Mini One central locking malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini One Diesel is experiencing a complete failure of the central locking system, with neither the key fob nor the interior switch functioning. Initial diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection as the likely cause, supported by stored error codes. A similar issue was resolved by checking fuses and connections, ultimately requiring professional repair. The solution involved addressing the defective connection and clearing the error memory.

Interesting. When you experienced this, were there any error codes stored? And was it a complete failure of the central locking system, or was it intermittent?

Yes, there were error codes stored. The central locking was completely unresponsive. I fiddled with fuses and checked a few connections, but ultimately had to take it to a workshop. They sorted it out quickly enough.

Appreciate the input. It turned out that the diagnostic pointed to a defective cable or plug connection, which aligns with your suspicion. The repair, including error memory deletion, totaled 95€. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Central locking issues are a pain. I drive a Mini One, and I recall having similar symptoms. Have you checked the fuse box? It could be something simple. Also, does your car alarm still work? Does the key fob still work for other functions?
