Mini One climate control blowing hot air

Alright, I'm officially losing my cool pun intended! The automatic climate control on my 2017 Mini One diesel has gone completely bonkers. It's just blowing hot air, regardless of what I set it to. The air conditioning system refuses to switch on at all. I scanned the error memory, and it's throwing a 'faulty interior temperature sensor' code. From what I've read, it's likely a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar climate issue with my Mini Cooper. The HVAC sensor was acting up. Does the air con light even flicker when you try to turn it on? Could be a sensor issue. It's like when your home thermostat goes haywire, and the heating just does its own thing. Worth checking the connections before you do anything drastic.

Interesting, you mention checking the connections. Where exactly is this HVAC sensor located? Is it easy enough to get to, or are we talking about dismantling half the dashboard?

Yeah, mine was a simple fix, though annoying to diagnose. Turns out the plug connection was loose. I would definitely take it to a workshop. They'll know where to look and have the right tools. Could save you a lot of hassle and potentially prevent you from accidentally breaking something else.

Huge thanks for the insight! Turns out it was exactly what you suspected a dodgy cable connection to the interior temp sensor. The automatic temperature control is back in action. Got it sorted for 95€ at a local garage. Appreciate the help!
