Mini One defective alarm system

My 2014 Mini One is exhibiting a defective additional battery alarm system. The primary symptom is an error stored in the error memory, coupled with a non-functional alarm system. From my initial assessment, the likely cause appears to be a discharged battery due to ageing. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I had a similar issue with my Mini One. The alarm system malfunctioned, and the error memory stored a related code. Have you performed a battery check on the auxiliary battery? It's often the culprit when the alarm system behaves erratically. In my case, the battery was simply discharged. Do you have access to a diagnostic tool to read the battery voltage?

Interesting. When you say 'discharged', was it a gradual decline, or did it fail suddenly? Was the error message the same? I'm trying to gauge whether it's worth the expense of a new auxiliary battery or if there could be another underlying issue draining the battery.

It was a gradual decline, as far as I could tell. The error message was related to low voltage in the alarm system circuit. I would advise that you have the battery properly checked at a workshop to confirm if it is the issue. If it is indeed the battery, replacement should resolve the problem.

I performed a battery check and it confirmed the low voltage. I have replaced the auxiliary battery, and the alarm system is now functioning correctly. The error in the memory is gone. Total cost 330€. Thank you for your input.
