Yeah, the brake fluid level is indeed pretty low. Is it possible this is related to worn brakes? I mean, is that something that happens?

Yes, worn brakes are a likely culprit. The fluid level drops as the pads wear down. If it is excessively low though, might also have a leak somewhere in your hydraulic brakes system. I would top it up and keep an eye on it, but honestly, I'd get it to a workshop ASAP just to be safe. Better safe than sorry when it comes to brakes and fluid replacement.

Just wanted to update this. The workshop confirmed it was worn brakes. Ended up costing me 480€ for the whole job. Thanks for the tip. At least now my Mini One is braking like new

I had a similar issue with my Mini. Brake pedal felt spongy. Have you checked the brake fluid level? Low brake fluid can cause that strange feedback.
