Mini One Diesel Overvoltage Error
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Mini One diesel was experiencing an overvoltage detected error, with multiple system failures and difficulty starting due to a seemingly weak battery. The issue was suspected to be caused by a heavily discharged or defective battery, which could lead to false high voltage readings and trigger ECU errors. Replacing the faulty battery resolved the electrical malfunctions, confirming the battery as the root cause.

When you say 'similar', was it also triggering overvoltage errors specifically? And did replacing the car battery resolve the electrical malfunction?

Yes, overvoltage was logged as the main error. Replacing the car battery fixed it completely. The high voltage readings were false positives caused by the failing battery messing with the car ECU. If your battery is weak, I'd suggest getting it checked out. It might be worth a visit to the workshop.

Just wanted to let you know that the problem is now solved. It was indeed the car battery. Had to replace it. The total cost was 290€. Thanks again for your help.

I had similar symptoms in my Mini One. Overvoltage errors, systems failing, and the battery was constantly weak. Have you checked the battery condition thoroughly? A faulty battery can cause a power surge and trigger those ECU errors.
