Mini One Diesel Tire Pressure Warning

I've got a bit of a problem with my 2019 Mini One Diesel. It's done 119411 km. I keep getting a 'Tire pressure too low' warning on the speedometer, even after I've checked the tire pressure. I had a look in the error memory and there is a 'Tire pressure sensor fault' stored. Could this be a dead sensor battery?

Hey, I had something similar with my Mini, though it's a Cooper. The air pressure warning kept popping up, even after a tire check. Have you checked the error memory using a diagnostic tool? Could be a TPMS issue. It might be the sensor itself, maybe the battery is just dead. I'm not 100% sure but it sounds familiar.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did check the error memory. It says 'Tire pressure sensor fault'. Did you have the same error message? Also, how did you figure out it was the battery and not something else?

Yeah, that sounds like what I experienced. I didn't figure it out myself to be honest. The workshop told me it was likely the sensor battery, and since they have a limited lifespan, it seemed plausible. I’d recommend taking it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly. It's hard to be certain without proper tools.

Just wanted to update you. It was indeed the tire pressure sensor battery. Had all four replaced and the error is gone. Cost me around 280€. Thanks for the advice!
