Mini One door electronics fault

Right, so here's a head-scratcher. My 2007 Mini One diesel has developed a nasty habit. The keyless access has decided to take a permanent vacation, and the error memory is screaming about some kind of door electronics fault. I'm suspecting it's a dodgy connection in the car door handle, probably a defective cable or plug. Has anyone else wrestled with electric door gremlins on their Mini One?

I had a similar issue with the electric door locking on my old Audi. The keyless entry stopped working, and it turned out to be a faulty door handle connection. Have you checked the wiring harness for any signs of damage or corrosion?

When you say wiring harness, are you referring to the connector inside the car door itself, or somewhere else? I've had the door panel off and visually inspected the connector at the door handle, but everything looked OK at first glance. I'm wondering if there's a specific area I should be focusing on.

Yes, I was referring to the connector inside the car door. On the Audi, the corrosion was very subtle and hard to spot initially. However, given that you have an error code pointing towards the door electronics, and considering the age of the vehicle, a visit to a workshop might be worthwhile to diagnose and rectify the issue properly.

Just wanted to give you a heads up – I took it to the workshop, and you nailed it! It was indeed the door handle electrics. The car door locking system was acting up because of a faulty connection in the door handle. They replaced the defective cable/plug, and the keyless access is working like a charm again. Total cost was 95€. Thanks a million for your help!
