Mini One engine stall and fuel sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mini One experienced engine stalling at idle and an illuminated check engine light, with an error related to the fuel level sensor. The issue was suspected to be linked to the fuel tank or sensor malfunction. After inspection, the problem was identified as a defective fuse within the fuel system affecting the level sensor, and replacing the fuse resolved the issues.

When you experienced this issue, did you also get an error code related to the fuel level sensor? Was the car sensor replacement straightforward, or did it require specialized tools or knowledge?

Yes, the error code pointed directly to the fuel level sensor. I'm not mechanically inclined, so I took it to a workshop. They indicated it could be a faulty sensor within the fuel system, perhaps similar to how a bad thermostat behaves. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly.

I appreciate the insight. Following a thorough inspection, it turned out to be a defective fuse within the fuel system, specifically affecting the level sensor. Replacing it for 52€ resolved the check engine light, stalling, and error memory issues.

I had a similar issue with my Mini One. The check engine light was on and the car would stall unexpectedly, almost like it was running out of fuel. Did you check the fuel level sensor itself? I am not a mechanic but maybe the car sensor has gone bad?
