Interesting. What exactly went wrong with your Peugeot, and did you also have problems with fuel injection?

Yes, it was the pressure sensor on the fuel rail. It caused the ECU to get incorrect readings, messing with the fuel injection. The mechanic suggested replacing the sensor outright rather than trying to clean it or anything. Honestly, I'd get it checked at a workshop. It's tricky to diagnose these things without proper equipment.

Just wanted to give you an update. It was indeed the pressure sensor. Replaced it, and the check engine light is gone, no more stalling, and power is back to normal. Cost me around 240€ parts and labor included. Thanks for your input!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Peugeot, though it was a diesel engine. The symptoms were almost identical, check engine light and all. I would check the sensor signal cable before replacing the sensor.
