Mini One heating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Mini One is experiencing heating issues with the rear window and reduced effectiveness of the windshield heating. A stored error code was found, but its relevance is uncertain. A potential cause identified is a heavily discharged or defective battery, which can lead to similar electrical problems. Replacing the battery resolved the issue, restoring full functionality to the heating systems.

The battery is probably around 5 years old. You mentioned a similar issue was it definitely the battery in your case? And did you also have an error stored?

Yep, pretty sure it was the battery. I didn't check the error codes myself back then, but the symptoms were identical. I was getting weird electrical issues too, like the start/stop system acting flaky. If your battery is that old, I'd say get it checked out by a shop. Could save a lot of headaches.

Just wanted to give an update. You were spot on! Took it to a workshop, and the battery was indeed the culprit. Replaced it, and everything's working perfectly now, rear window heating and all. Cost me 290€ all in. Thanks again for your help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar heating issue with my Mini One, though I didn't check the error memory myself. The rear window demister was completely dead, and the windshield heating was acting up too. How old is your battery? I'd start there.
