Mini One Reduced Engine Power

My 2019 Mini One is acting up. It's a gasoline model. I'm getting reduced engine power and a warning light. It starts poorly, and the lights are dim or flicker. I'm guessing it's a faulty generator. Could this also affect the starter motor or car electronics?

Sounds like an alternator issue. Check the serpentine belt first. Is it worn or loose? Have you scanned the error memory? What codes are stored?

Where exactly is the serpentine belt and how do I check it? I did scan the error memory and there was a code related to low voltage. Does that confirm the generator defective diagnosis?

The low voltage error confirms the alternator issue. The serpentine belt drives the alternator. Look for cracks or fraying on the belt. If the belt is okay, the alternator replacement is likely the fix. Given the symptoms, it's best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a shop and they confirmed it was the generator. Had the alternator replacement done. Cost me 960€. Runs like new now.
