Mini One rough idle and vibration issues
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Mini One was experiencing rough idling and noticeable vibrations, with an error stored in the error memory. The suspected cause was a defective engine mount or possibly a faulty connection. After taking the car to a workshop, it was confirmed that the engine mount was indeed defective. Replacing the mounting bracket resolved the vibration issues, restoring the car's smooth operation.

Thanks for your reply! I haven't had a chance to inspect it closely myself, but the error memory did show something about a potential issue with the engine mount. Could a defective cable or plug connection really be the cause, or is it more likely the mount itself has failed?

Yeah, a defective cable or plug is possible, but in my case, it was definitely the rubber mount gone bad. I'd say get it checked out properly; a mount failure can cause more damage if left unattended. Best to go to a workshop, in my opinion.

Thanks so much for the info. I ended up taking my Mini One to the workshop, and it turned out you were spot on! The defective engine mount was causing all the vibration issues. They replaced the mounting bracket, and now it runs like new. The repair cost me 95€. I really appreciate your help!

Sounds like you might have a defective engine mount. I had similar vibration issues and uneven idling with my Mini. Have you checked the rubber mount itself for any visible damage or cracks?
