Mini Paceman ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Mini Paceman diesel exhibited an ABS system failure, indicated by the ABS lamp and a lateral acceleration sensor fault. The issue was traced to a defective lateral acceleration sensor, which was replaced to resolve the problem. It was advised to check the wheel alignment after sensor replacement, and if issues persisted, to consider the electronic control unit. The solution restored the ABS system functionality.

Interesting. I haven't checked the raw yaw rate data directly. Was the defective lateral sensor the sole cause in your case? Did it require a complete electronic control replacement as well, or just the sensor itself?

Just the lateral sensor needing replacement. It's mounted near the yaw sensor, often they fail together, but in my case the yaw rate seemed fine. A new sensor sorted it, but get the wheel alignment checked afterwards. If the error persists, then consider the control unit.

Took the Paceman to a trusted mechanic, and you were spot on. The lateral acceleration sensor was indeed faulty. New sensor installed, wheel alignment done, and the ABS system is back online. Cost me around 1000€. Thanks a lot for your insight!

I had similar ABS and lateral sensor issues on my Mini. Same symptoms: ABS light, system failure. The electronic control module threw the same error code. Do you know the yaw rate being reported?
