Mini Paceman AC Issues

My 2015 Mini Paceman diesel is giving me grief. The air conditioning has stopped cooling altogether, and the whole system doesn't even seem to be switching on. I've read it could be a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system. Has anyone else experienced this?

That's odd. I've got a Paceman too, although I'm not sure if it's the exact same model year, and I had a similar thing happen last summer. The AC just stopped blowing cold. Have you checked the basics, like the pressure switch or the blower motor? Maybe there's a refrigerant leak? Those can kill your AC efficiency pretty quick. It's difficult to assess the temperature control without knowing these things.

Interesting. When yours failed, did it completely shut down, or was it just weak? I'm not getting any cooling at all and the AC system seems completely inactive. What exactly was the problem you experienced?

Yeah, mine was a complete shutdown too. The compressor wouldn't kick in at all. Honestly, diagnosing AC problems can be a pain, even with some knowledge. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They sorted it out, but I couldn't tell you exactly which valve it was. Maybe save yourself the headache and get it checked out?

Thanks for the insight. Turns out it was indeed a valve issue within the AC system. Cost me around 1000€ to get it sorted, but at least the AC is working properly again.
