Mini Paceman Automatic Transmission Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mini Paceman is experiencing automatic transmission issues, including incorrect shifting and activation of the transmission indicator light, sometimes entering emergency mode. The problem was suspected to be caused by undervoltage in the vehicle. After investigation, it was confirmed that undervoltage was indeed the cause of the transmission problems, and the issue was resolved by a garage.

Hydraulic fluid level, got it. Is that the same as the transmission oil? And if it's low, what could be causing that?

Yes, hydraulic fluid is often referred to as transmission oil. If it's low, it could indicate a leak somewhere in the system. Given the symptoms, though, and the potential undervoltage issue, it might be more complex. I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop, as it sounds like you have significant transmission problems.

Just wanted to update that the issue is now resolved. The garage confirmed it was undervoltage causing the transmission problems. Total cost was 240€, which I think is reasonable. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you are having transmission problems. I had similar issues with my old Vauxhall. The automatic gearbox was acting up, shifting erratically. Have you checked the hydraulic fluid level? That could be a simple fix.
