Mini Paceman boost pressure control fault
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mini Paceman experienced a boost pressure control fault, leading to a check engine light, reduced engine power, poor response, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause was a defect in a vacuum switching valve, though other possibilities like a faulty bypass valve or vacuum leak were considered. The issue was resolved by replacing the faulty vacuum switching valve, restoring the vehicle's performance and eliminating the warning light.

Bypass valve, you say? I've been reading about those. Where exactly is it located, and is there a way to test it without specialized equipment? Also, could a vacuum leak cause a pressure drop severe enough to trigger these symptoms?

Yeah, definitely sounds like the same issue I had. The bypass valve is usually near the turbo. Honestly, without proper tools, testing it yourself is tricky. A vacuum leak could definitely cause a pressure drop, and limp mode. Save yourself the stress and take it to a workshop. They'll diagnose it properly.

Thanks a bunch for the insight. Turns out it was indeed a faulty vacuum switching valve. Got it replaced for 140€ and the Paceman is back to its old self. No more check engine light or limp mode!

Sounds like a familiar headache. I had similar issues with my Mini Paceman a while back. Check engine light, noticeable power loss, the whole shebang. Have you looked at the bypass valve? A faulty boost controller can also cause similar symptoms.
