Mini Paceman Brake Light Issue

Something pressing on the pedal, you reckon? Hmm, that's an interesting thought. You mean like a floor mat or something? I'm willing to give it a shot if it fixed the issue, but could that really cause the brake light failure and trigger the error in the system?

Yep, I was surprised too, but in my case, it was the floor mat shifted forward. The slightest pressure was enough to trigger the brake light and throw those errors. If it's not something obvious like that, then yeah, a faulty brake switch is likely. It would be best to take it into the workshop if the error persists. They have the proper diagnostic tools to pinpoint it.

You are a lifesaver! Turns out, I'm a complete idiot. My shoe must have been pressing on the brake pedal just enough to trigger the light and the error. Cleared the code, moved my feet, and BAM! Problem solved. Zero Euro spent! Can't believe it was something so simple. Thanks a bunch for the suggestion to check for stupid errors first. Really appreciate it!

That's a frustrating electrical issue to deal with, especially on the tail light. I had a similar problem with my Paceman; same error messages and everything. Though I'm not sure if it's the same cause, have you checked for anything pressing on the brake pedal? It sounds silly, but might be worth a look.
