Mini Paceman central locking failure

Alright, so the central locking on my 2015 Mini Paceman gasoline has completely failed. I can't lock or unlock the doors anymore. There's an error stored in the error memory, which points to a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else run into this? Is it likely to actually be the cable or something more sinister?

Summary of the thread

The central locking on a 2015 Mini Paceman failed, with an error indicating a defective cable or plug connection. This issue led to the inability to lock or unlock the doors, and the keyless entry stopped working. A similar problem was resolved by addressing the locking mechanism's electronics, suggesting a defective plug connection as the likely cause. The problem was confirmed and fixed at a workshop, restoring the locking functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had something similar happen with my Mini. The car alarm would go off out of nowhere, and sometimes the car locks wouldn't respond to the key fob. Does your keyless entry still work? For me, the problem was with the locking mechanism itself. Apparently, the electronics controlling the car locks can be quite sensitive.

Interesting. When you say 'locking mechanism', do you mean the physical lock inside the door, or something else? My keyless entry doesn't work anymore, and the car locks won't respond at all, whether I use the key fob or the button inside the car. Do you remember if your error memory stored a similar error?

Yes, by 'locking mechanism', I meant the whole assembly inside the door, including the electronics. It sounds like your issue is probably the same as mine, especially with the keyless entry not working. In my opinion, it's likely that the defective plug connection is causing the entire assembly to fail. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed.

Thanks for the heads up. I took it to the workshop and it was indeed a defective plug connection, like the error memory suggested. 95€ later, everything's working again.
