Mini Paceman diesel engine issue

Oomph is definitely the right word, feels sluggish as anything. Spark plugs I haven't looked at myself, to be honest, but they were supposedly checked at the last service. Intake manifold, no idea what to look for there. And engine knocking, I can't say I've noticed anything obvious, but I'm no expert. What exactly did you find with yours?

Yep, sounds familiar. Mine turned out to be a faulty sensor messing with the readings. The computer thought there was a pressure problem, hence the error code and the symptoms. A consequential error is just that – an error triggered by another problem. I'd seriously consider getting them to double-check all the sensors before they start ripping the engine apart looking for head gasket issues or crankshaft problems. Honestly, I’d take it to a good workshop.

You were spot on! Took it to the workshop, turns out it was a dodgy sensor causing all the chaos. No pressure fluctuation at all, just a phantom reading. They cleared the error, and the engine's running smooth as butter now. Fuel consumption is back to normal, and the power is definitely back. Best part? Zero cost! Thanks a million for the advice, you saved me a ton of stress and probably a hefty bill.

Hey there, I had something similar happen with my Paceman. Higher fuel consumption and the engine light coming on. Does it feel like it's lost some of its oomph? The cylinder pressure fluctuation could be a knock-on effect of something else going wrong. Have you checked the spark plugs? Also, I'd be looking at the intake manifold. Is there any engine knocking?
