Mini Paceman Diesel Engine Problems

My 2014 Mini Paceman diesel is exhibiting some concerning issues. The engine fails to start consistently, stalls at idle, and triggers the check engine light. Engine running is rough and fuel consumption has increased. Error memory suggests a defective fuel pump. Could a defective cable or plug connection on the component be the likely cause?

I had a similar issue with my Mini Countryman. Engine stalled frequently, and the check engine light was always on. Have you checked the fuel injector?

Fuel injector was checked, but seemed fine. Where exactly was the issue with your Countryman's fuel system?

Yes, those were the exact symptoms. Turned out to be a corroded connection on the fuel pump harness. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop.

Automotive diagnosis confirmed it was a defective cable connection. Repair cost 95€. Thanks for the insight.
