Mini Paceman diesel mixture preparation error

I am experiencing a mixture preparation error with my 2016 Mini Paceman diesel. The engine power is noticeably reduced, and the check engine light has illuminated. Furthermore, the engine runs roughly, there is jerking during acceleration, and the engine occasionally stalls at idle. Considering the symptoms, a defective injection valve or injector seems to be the likely cause. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Reduced engine power, rough running, stalling… sounds familiar! I had almost the same symptoms with my old Vauxhall Astra. It drove me nuts for weeks. Did you already check the usual suspects, like the spark plugs or the oxygen sensor? What about the intake manifold? Is the check engine light on? And has the catalytic converter been checked? In my case, it turned out to be a faulty mass airflow sensor. Could be something similar?

Yeah, those symptoms… I remember them well. The Astra was jerking like crazy, and the engine light was constantly on. The mechanic ran a diagnostic and got a code pointing to the mass airflow sensor. Honestly, I'm no expert, but your symptoms sound pretty close to what I experienced. Given that you suspect a defective injector, it's probably best to get it checked out by a professional. Do you really want to start replacing parts based on guesswork? A proper diagnosis could save you time and money.

Thank you for your reply. You mentioned a faulty mass airflow sensor on your Vauxhall Astra. Could you elaborate on the symptoms you experienced and how the issue was diagnosed? Were there any specific diagnostic codes?

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems I was indeed dealing with a similar issue. After a visit to the workshop, it turned out that an injector was defective. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 515€. The car is now running smoothly again.
