Mini Paceman engine problems

Frustration is mounting with my 2013 Mini Paceman! The check engine light is on, engine power is noticeably reduced, and engine response is poor. Fuel consumption has also increased. I suspect a faulty manifold sensor, likely due to a large vacuum leakage, but am unsure how to proceed.

Sounds like the manifold pressure sensor is the prime suspect, especially with those symptoms. I experienced something similar in my previous car; reduced engine power and the check engine light were the first clues. Is the engine idling rough as well?

The engine idle seems normal, only the other symptoms are present. But considering the mileage of my Mini Paceman, the intake manifold area might be dirty. Is there any chance that the pressure sensor is affected by dirt in the manifold?

The intake manifold area being dirty could definitely affect the pressure sensor readings, but it's less likely to cause such significant issues. The sensor itself is probably failing. Given the symptoms, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. It's better to be safe than sorry and avoid potential further damage.

Just wanted to let you know that your hunch was spot on. The workshop confirmed it was a faulty manifold sensor causing a large vacuum leakage. Sensor replacement cost me 235€, but the Mini Paceman is running smoothly again. Thanks for the help!
