Mini Paceman Exhaust Issue

I did check the error memory; it points to the exhaust flap. Wiring looks OK on visual inspection. Could a faulty exhaust valve also trigger this, or is it more likely the flap motor itself?

Given the fault code and symptoms, a defective flap motor is probable. I'd wager that's your culprit. A faulty exhaust valve could cause performance issues, but not typically the specific symptoms you describe. I'd recommend a proper diagnostic at a workshop to confirm before replacing any parts.

Confirmed exhaust repair at local workshop, cost 190€. Defective flap motor was indeed the cause. Thanks for the insight.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper S. Exhaust noise got noticeably louder, especially on cold starts. I'd check the wiring to the flap motor first, could just be a loose connection. Do you have access to a diagnostic tool to read the fault codes?
