Mini Paceman oil pressure warning
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Paceman diesel exhibited an oil pressure warning and mechanical noises, leading to a suspicion of a failing oil pump. An oil change had been recently performed, ruling out oil quality as the issue. After checking the oil pressure sensor and confirming the use of the correct oil viscosity, the problem was diagnosed as a faulty oil pump. Replacing the oil pump resolved the issue.

Thanks for the reply. The oil pressure sensor was the first thing I checked and it seems fine. I'm using 5W-30 engine oil, which is what's recommended. Could it be something more serious, like engine bearings?

Yeah, 5W-30 should be fine. Since you've ruled out the simple stuff, it probably is the oil pump. Those noises are concerning. Best get it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis before you cause serious engine damage. Continuing to run it with low oil pressure is asking for trouble.

Just got the Mini back. It was the oil pump, exactly as I suspected. New one fitted and all seems good now. Cost me 755€ including labor. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Paceman a while back. Check the oil pressure sensor first, could be a faulty reading. What engine oil are you using? Incorrect oil viscosity can also cause low oil pressure, especially in colder weather.
