Mini Paceman Radar Sensor Issue

I'm officially stumped and hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My 2013 Mini Paceman is throwing a fit. The radar sensor seems to have given up the ghost. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, there's an error stored in the error memory, and a whole bunch of safety systems are now disabled. Of course, the obligatory warning light is shining brightly too! I've read that a dirty sensor can cause sensor failure, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

I had a similar issue with my Countryman. Same radar sensor failure symptoms, warning lights and error messages. It might be a simple fix. Have you checked the sensor itself for dirt or obstructions? These automotive sensors are sensitive.

That's interesting! Where exactly is the radar sensor located on the Paceman? And what did you use to clean it? I don't want to damage anything. Also, did you have to do any radar calibration afterwards?

Yes, the sensor on mine was behind the front bumper. I just used a soft cloth and some mild soapy water. Be gentle. I would recommend a visit to the workshop. They'll be able to properly diagnose it and perform a radar calibration if needed. It's crucial for your safety systems to function correctly.

Just wanted to give an update! You were spot on! Turns out the radar sensor was just filthy! Gave it a good clean, and everything is working perfectly again. The error message is gone, and all the safety systems are back online. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning. Thanks a million for your help!
