Mini Paceman reduced engine power after chip tuning

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2013 Mini Paceman diesel has started acting up. I'm getting reduced engine power and a dashboard light. I've had a car diagnostic run and there's an error stored in the error memory. Thing is, I suspect it's related to some chip tuning a previous owner had done. Any thoughts before I start tearing apart the car computer?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Paceman after a dodgy remap. The dashboard light came on, and the car went into limp mode. Did you use an auto scanner to pull the codes?

Limp mode is exactly what I experienced. Yeah, I did a vehicle diagnostics check with an auto scanner, and it flagged a fault code pointing to overboost. Was your problem definitely the remap, or could it be something else?

Yep, pretty sure it was the remap. The car computer was throwing all sorts of spurious errors. If the car is in limp mode and you're getting overboost codes after a remap, chances are it's the map itself causing the problem. Best bet is to get it checked out at a garage.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. Turns out it was the remap causing the issue. Got the car put back to stock, and she's running like a dream. Cost me 180€ to get it sorted. Thanks again for your help!
