Mini Paceman rough engine and stalling issues
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mini Paceman with 45,105 km is experiencing rough engine performance, stalling at idle, and a constant check engine light. The issues include engine misfires and jerking during acceleration. The likely cause is identified as a defective ignition coil, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug connection. Replacing the ignition coil resolved the problem, restoring smooth engine operation.

Misfires, yes! That's exactly what it feels like. When yours had the coil failure, did it also stall at idle? I'm wondering if it's worth checking the ignition system myself before taking it to a workshop.

Yep, mine stalled too, especially when cold. Honestly, messing with the ignition system can be tricky. I'd suggest getting it checked by a pro to be safe. Could save you more hassle in the long run.

Thanks a bunch for the help! Turns out it was a defective ignition coil, just like you suspected. Apparently, the cable or plug connection was faulty. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted, but now my Paceman is running smoothly again. Appreciate your insights!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar engine hesitation issues with my Mini Paceman, and the check engine light kept popping up. Did you notice any misfires or rough running, particularly at lower speeds? I'm not a mechanic, but could it be a coil failure? It affected my ignition system, hopefully you'll figure it out soon!
