Mini Paceman Stalling and Fuel Level Sensor Issues

I'm seriously losing it with my 2016 Mini Paceman It's a diesel, done about km. The check engine light is on, and the engine keeps stalling when I'm idling, which is super annoying. I think it's something to do with the fuel level sensor because there's an error stored about it. Could it be something simple like a fuse, or am I looking at something more serious with the fuel tank level sensor Any ideas

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Mini Paceman is experiencing stalling issues and an unreliable fuel gauge, with a check engine light indicating a fuel level sensor fault. The problem is confirmed by error codes and erratic fuel gauge behavior. While a fuse issue is considered, the primary recommendation is to have the fuel level sensor professionally inspected and potentially replaced. The issue was resolved by replacing the faulty fuel level sensor at a workshop.

Based on the symptoms you described, a faulty fuel level sensor seems plausible. However, have you checked the car's error memory using an OBD scanner to confirm the specific error codes related to the fuel level sensor? Furthermore, could you please confirm if the fuel gauge is displaying an incorrect reading, or if it fluctuates erratically

Thanks for the quick reply Yeah, the error memory definitely says fuel level sensor fault. And the fuel gauge is all over the place, totally unreliable. I'm just wondering, could it really be just a fuse? Where would I even find that fuse for the fuel tank sensor

Given that the error memory confirms the fuel level sensor fault and the fuel gauge is behaving erratically, it is likely a problem with the sensor itself. While a fuse issue is possible, it is less probable. The fuse location should be indicated in your owner's manual. However, considering the symptoms and error code, I recommend taking your Mini Paceman to a workshop to have the fuel level sensor professionally inspected and replaced if necessary

Just wanted to let you know I got it sorted It was indeed the fuel level sensor. Cost me 52€ at the workshop. Thanks again for your help
