Mini Paceman Steering Angle Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2016 Mini Paceman is experiencing issues with the steering angle sensor, leading to increased steering effort and vibrations, indicative of potential power steering failure. The problem is likely due to faulty sensor coding. The recommended solution is to replace and recalibrate the sensor at a workshop, which resolved the issue in this case.

Connections seem solid. Was your experience accompanied by steering wheel vibration and increased effort, similar to a power steering failure? Also, did any traction control warnings pop up?

Yes, exactly! The vibration was intense, like driving over rumble strips constantly. And yes, traction control was going haywire. Sounds like your steering sensor is the problem. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop; it needs proper recalibration after sensor replacement.

Confirmed the faulty coding of the steering angle sensor. Sensor replacement and recalibration at the workshop sorted it. Cost me 195€. Thanks for the insights.

I had a similar issue with my Paceman. The steering felt like I was wrestling an alligator, and the electronic stability system light kept flashing. Did you check the connections to the steering sensor? Sometimes it's just a loose wire.
