Mini Paceman uneven idling and error code
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Paceman was experiencing uneven idling and an error code, initially suspected to be caused by a defective engine mount, specifically a faulty cable or plug connection. Further inspection revealed that the rubber mount was visibly worn and deteriorated, contributing to the issue. The solution involved replacing the mounting bracket, which resolved the idling problem and restored smooth operation.

When you experienced this issue, did you notice any specific signs of mount wear or damage? Was it obvious, or did it require close inspection to identify the defective engine mount?

Yes, the mount wear was pretty obvious upon inspection. In my case, the rubber was cracked and deteriorated. While the cable or plug connection might be the culprit, I'd suggest taking it to the workshop for a thorough inspection of the mount itself. If the rubber mount has failed, it will need replacement.

I appreciate your insights. It appears the engine mount was indeed defective. The rubber mount had seen better days. Error memory pointed to a defective cable or plug connection to the component. The mounting bracket was replaced at a cost of 95€. Now the Paceman runs smoothly. Thanks again.

I had a similar issue with my Paceman. Uneven idling and an error code. Have you checked the engine mount itself for wear? A failed mount can cause vibrations and throw off the engine's balance. I would inspect the rubber mount and the mounting bracket for any visible damage.
