Thanks for the quick response! I did a quick visual inspection of the wiring near the sensor, but honestly, I'm not very experienced with automotive electrics. Where exactly should I be looking for potential issues? Are there any specific connectors or areas prone to corrosion that I should focus on?

Given your description and the error code pointing to the rollover sensor, it is probable that the control unit is indeed the source of the problem. The cost you mentioned seems to be within the expected range for such a repair, considering parts and labor. Unless you possess advanced diagnostic tools and expertise, I would recommend entrusting the repair to a qualified workshop. Tampering with the airbag system without proper knowledge can have serious consequences. It is best to ensure the vehicle rollover and airbag sensor system functions correctly.

Just wanted to give a quick update. Took the Mini to a local mechanic who specializes in German cars. Turns out, the rollover sensor control unit was indeed faulty. They replaced it, cleared the error codes, and the airbag warning light is finally gone! The bill was pretty much what I expected, around 1000€. Thanks for confirming my suspicions – your experience helped me prepare for the repair!

I had a similar issue with my Mini Roadster. The airbag warning light illuminated, and a diagnostic scan revealed a fault with the rollover sensor. Considering the system's complexity and direct impact on safety, I would suggest a methodical approach. Did you, by any chance, check the wiring and connections to the sensor? It is often the simple things that get overlooked.
