Mini Roadster Alarm System Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Roadster is experiencing issues with a non-functional alarm system and an error indicating a 'defective additional battery alarm system.' The likely cause is identified as a discharged auxiliary battery due to ageing. The suggested solution is to have the auxiliary battery checked and potentially replaced by a professional, which resolved the issue and restored the alarm system's functionality.

That's interesting! You mentioned an auxiliary battery. Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could potentially test myself with a multimeter, or is it better left to the pros?

Yeah, definitely sounds like the same problem. The auxiliary battery is a pain to get to, honestly. I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself unless you're super confident with electrical stuff. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they can properly diagnose it and replace the battery if needed.

Just wanted to let you know how things went. Turns out it was the auxiliary battery, just like you suspected. Got it replaced, cleared the error code, and now the alarm system is back in business. Cost me about 330€. Thanks again for the heads up!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Mini Roadster alarm system going haywire. Kept getting a weird battery signal too. Does your car struggle to start sometimes, or do you notice any other electrical gremlins? Mine turned out to be a dead auxiliary battery. Maybe worth checking out?
