Mini Roadster auxiliary heater malfunction

Interesting points. How did you confirm the temperature sensor was working correctly, and did you notice any specific symptoms with the blower motor? I'm not seeing any obvious coolant leaks, but I'll double-check. I am getting an error stored in the error memory, which is why I initially suspected the glow plug.

The error memory is definitely a strong indicator. If the glow plug is the only error being reported, that's likely your issue. I relied on a diagnostic tool to check the sensor's readings and the blower motor functionality. A defective glow plug is more common than a failing sensor. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they pinpointed it pretty quickly. It's sometimes best to let the pros handle it. It's like chasing a ghost; you think you've found the solution, but it's just another dead end.

Big thanks for sharing your insights. Turns out the auxiliary heater system in my Roadster was indeed throwing a fit because of a faulty glow plug. Bit the bullet and had it replaced. The 440€ stung a little, but at least the error's gone and the parking heater is working again. Peace of mind is worth something, I guess.

I had a similar issue with my Mini Roadster's auxiliary heater. Is the temperature sensor working correctly? A faulty sensor can cause the system to misbehave. Also, check for any coolant leaks around the heating system. Have you had a look at the blower motor? A failing blower could also be the culprit.
