Mini Roadster Cylinder Pressure Issue

Yep, check engine light was on for me too. The knocking was subtle at first, then gradually got worse. It's worth getting it checked at a workshop. Could be a sensor issue, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. They can run proper diagnostics and pinpoint the problem before you end up with serious damage.

Interesting, thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I've been monitoring the fuel injector, but haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary so far. As for engine knocking, it's intermittent, almost unnoticeable at times. Was that your experience too? Did yours also throw a check engine light?

Just wanted to update you: took the Roadster to a mechanic, and after diagnostics, it turned out to be a faulty sensor causing the cylinder pressure issue! Replaced it, and everything's running smoothly again. No engine knocking, fuel consumption is back to normal, and the check engine light is off. Unbelievably, the repair was completely free because it was covered under an extended warranty I'd almost forgotten about! Thanks again for your help!

Cylinder pressure fluctuation on a Mini Roadster, huh? Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Mini. Higher fuel consumption and reduced power were the first signs. Have you checked the fuel injector? Or perhaps you're hearing any engine knocking?
