Mini Roadster Defrost Air Distribution Flap Issue

Thanks! The blower motor seems fine, it's blowing air alright, just not hot enough. And the error code does point towards the air distribution flap. So, when you had this, was it definitely just a loose cable then? Did you have to remove much of the dashboard panel?

Given that your diagnostic points to the air distribution flap and the blower motor appears to be functioning correctly, a faulty connection is certainly a strong possibility. In my case, the issue was indeed a corroded connector. While I managed to fix it myself, I would recommend taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair, especially if you're not comfortable working with the dashboard panel. They have the tools and expertise to properly diagnose and repair any faults in the air distribution system and heater core.

Took it to the workshop. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection as suspected. 95€ later and the ventilation system is blowing hot air again. Thanks for the heads up!

Hello. I had a similar issue with my Mini Roadster. The reduced heating output is quite annoying, especially in colder weather. Before you start tearing into the dashboard panel, have you checked the blower motor resistor? A failing resistor can cause the blower to only work on certain speeds or not at all, affecting the air distribution and perceived heat. Also, inspect the heater core hoses for any kinks or blockages. While a defective cable is possible, these are easier to rule out first. A diagnostic tool should give you the exact error code, which would help pinpoint the problem.
