Interesting. You mentioned a fuel pressure sensor. Was your engine stalling as well? And did you experience any jerking when accelerating? I am not too familiar with these engines so any additional information is welcome.

Yes, the engine stalling and jerking were exactly what I experienced. Although, I did not look under the hood myself. Best bet is to take it to a workshop; they can diagnose the fuel system and tell you for sure if it is the fuel pressure sensor or something else.

I appreciate your input! I took the Roadster to a trusted mechanic. Turns out, it was indeed a faulty fuel pressure sensor, just as you suspected. The cable and plug looked fine, so they replaced the sensor. Cost me 95€, but the engine runs smoothly now. Fuel delivery is back to normal, and the check engine light is off. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, especially with the fuel economy suffering. It saved me a lot of unnecessary worry and troubleshooting!

I had a similar issue with my Mini. Check engine light and rough running sounds like a fuel system problem. Does it only happen when the engine is cold, or all the time? Have you noticed any changes in your fuel economy? It could be the fuel pressure sensor, but I am just guessing.
