Mini Roadster diesel power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Roadster diesel experienced a significant drop in engine power, suspected to be linked to previous third-party chip tuning. The issue was identified through a diagnostic scan showing an error code, likely causing the ECU to enter a failsafe mode. The solution involved resetting the ECU to factory settings, which restored the vehicle's performance.

Interesting! Yeah, the dashboard light was on, and the car diagnostic showed reduced engine power. How did you resolve your issue? Was it definitely the fueling? Any specifics on the code your car computer displayed?

Yes, that sounds very similar to what I experienced. I took mine to a workshop and they indicated that the remapping had caused the ECU to enter a failsafe mode. I would recommend having it checked out professionally.

Thanks a bunch for the help! Took it to a reliable mechanic, and you nailed it – the car computer threw a code related to the dodgy chip tuning. They reset everything to the factory settings, and now my Roadster purrs like a kitten again. Cost me 180€, but it's worth it to have the old power back!

I had something similar happen on my Mini Roadster. What fault code did the scan tool pull up? Did the check engine light come on? It sounds like a fueling issue maybe?
