Mini Roadster electronic parking brake fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Roadster experienced a non-functional electronic parking brake, with a warning light and error stored in the memory. The issue was suspected to be a defective electric motor in the brake calliper. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the calliper assembly, which was confirmed as the solution when the owner had both rear callipers replaced, restoring the parking brake functionality.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks for the quick reply. The error memory does point towards the electric motor in the brake calliper being defective. Did you have the same error code? And what was the eventual repair?

Yep, same issue. Same error code too, if I remember correctly. I tried a few things, but in the end, I just bit the bullet and took it to a workshop. They replaced the whole calliper assembly. Not cheap, but at least it fixed the problem.

Just wanted to close the loop on this. Took the Roadster to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was indeed the electric motor in the brake calliper. Had both rear callipers replaced for 505€. Parking brake is working perfectly again. Thanks for the help!

I had something similar happen with my Mini. Electronic brake fault light came on and the parking brake just wouldn't engage. I think it's a brake control system glitch. Does the error memory say anything specific?
