Mini Roadster engine woes

Alright, petrolheads, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2015 Mini Roadster diesel is acting up. Check engine light is on, power's way down, it's chugging fuel, and the throttle response is a joke. I'm guessing it's the manifold pressure sensor, like a sensor failure of some kind, maybe a large vacuum leakage. Any ideas before I sell this automotive sensor nightmare?

I had a similar issue with my Mini. Check engine light illuminated, diminished engine output, and an overall sluggish feel. From your description, a faulty manifold pressure sensor sounds plausible. Has the intake manifold been inspected for leaks?

So, vacuum leakage, huh? How would I know if that's the real issue? And is the MAP sensor the same thing as the manifold pressure sensor? Just trying to wrap my head around it all.

Yes, MAP sensor is an acronym for Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, so they are the same thing. If there is a vacuum leak within the intake manifold, the sensor will return incorrect data. This can cause the engine to run poorly. I would suggest that a technician inspect the intake manifold. It is probably best to take it to a workshop.

Dude, appreciate the help! Just got it back from the shop. Turns out it was the MAP sensor. Sensor replacement and all that jazz. Cost me 235€, but at least my Mini Roadster is back to its old self!
