Mini Roadster Fog Sensor Problem

I'm experiencing an issue with the fog sensor on my 2013 Mini Roadster diesel, and frankly, it's quite bothersome. The error memory contains a stored error, and the air conditioning system refuses to engage. Furthermore, the spray nozzles are freezing in these colder temperatures, and the mirror heating is non-functional. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection, and the estimated repair is about 95€. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I had a similar issue with my Mini. Check the wiring harness and connector for the fog sensor. Sometimes they get corroded or damaged, causing electrical issue. That might affect your climate control too. Is the sensor itself clean?

When you mention the wiring harness and connector, are you referring to the connection directly at the sensor on the windshield, or further along the wiring loom? I'll double check if the sensor is clean but it looks ok.

Yes, I meant the connection directly at the sensor. If that looks okay, it might be something deeper in the system. Honestly, I ended up taking mine to the shop. It was worth it to get it sorted properly.

I wanted to provide an update regarding the fog sensor issue. As you suggested, I inspected the cable and plug connections. While I couldn't identify the precise fault, I opted to take my Mini Roadster to the shop. The repair cost aligned with the initial estimate, and all related problems appear to be resolved. I extend my sincere gratitude for your valuable assistance!
