Mini Roadster incorrect fuel composition error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Mini Roadster displayed an "Incorrect fuel composition" error, causing the check engine light to activate and the engine to stall at idle. The initial suspicion was a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to consider fuel contamination as a possible cause. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by fixing a faulty connection in the fuel system.

Fuel contamination, huh? Interesting. What exactly did you do to troubleshoot that? Did you try any fuel additives, or is that just snake oil?

Yeah, I tried some fuel additives, but honestly, they didn't do much. It was a waste of money, like trying to put a band-aid on a broken leg. Eventually, I took it to a workshop, and they found some fuel contamination and a clogged fuel filter. Might be worth getting yours checked out.

Just wanted to let you know that you were spot on! Took my Roadster in, and it turned out to be a faulty connection in the fuel system. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. Thanks for the help!

Sounds suspiciously like the issue I had with my old Ford a while back. Check engine light, rough idle, the whole nine yards. Have you considered it might be fuel contamination? It's like putting bad milk in your coffee – the whole system gets messed up.
