Mini Roadster Parking Aid System Issue

I am experiencing an issue with the parking aid system on my 2014 Mini Roadster Diesel. The parking assistant is non-functional, and the error memory indicates a fault. I suspect that the cable or plug connection of a component may be defective. Could this be related to the parking sensors themselves or the proximity sensors? The estimated repair cost is approximately 95€.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Skoda – the parking sensors were throwing a fit. Turned out to be a dodgy connection. Have you checked the control module for any visible damage?

Thanks for the quick reply! You mentioned checking the control module for visible damage. Where exactly is this located? And is it easy to access without special tools?

The control module location depends on the car model, but it's often behind the bumper or in the trunk. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. It saved me a lot of hassle in the end. Could be faulty wiring as you suspect.

Just wanted to give a quick update. I took the Mini to the workshop, and they confirmed it was faulty wiring to one of the parking sensors. They repaired the connection, and the parking assist is working perfectly again. Total cost was indeed around 95€. Thanks again for your input!
