Mini Roadster System Readiness Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Roadster displayed a "system readiness" error on the speedometer after using an OBD2 scanner, with the error stored in memory. The issue likely stemmed from the OBD2 scanner interfering with the system readiness flags. A suggested solution was to take the car for a longer drive to allow the onboard diagnostics to complete its tests. Ultimately, visiting a workshop to clear the readiness flags resolved the issue quickly and at no cost.

Okay, so it sounds like the OBD2 read messed with the system readiness flags. Unfortunately, there's no magic bullet or way to force it through the tool. You might need to take it to a workshop. They can usually clear the readiness flags and get everything back to normal pretty quickly. It shouldn't cost much – hopefully just a quick job.

Yeah, I did try driving it for a bit, but no luck. Still shows the error in the speedometer. The exact error stored is "System readiness check incomplete". Regarding the OBD readiness, is there anything specific I should look for in the diagnostics tool? Maybe a way to force the check?

Big thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you called it – they cleared the readiness flags and now everything is perfect. No cost, just a quick reset. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a familiar problem! I had a similar thing with my Roadster after running a car diagnostics tool. The system readiness wasn't complete. Did you try going for a longer drive? Sometimes the onboard diagnostics needs time to cycle through all the tests. What car diagnostics tool did you use?
