Mini Roadster Washer Fluid Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Mini Roadster displayed a "Washer fluid low" warning, causing the windshield washer system to stop working. The issue was likely due to a sensitive sensor detecting low fluid levels, even if the reservoir wasn't empty. The suggested solution was to check and refill the washer fluid, which resolved the problem.

So, just to be clear, even if the reservoir isn't completely empty, the windshield washer system might not work? Is there a sensor or something that's extra sensitive?

Yes, exactly. The sensor is pretty sensitive. I thought I had enough fluid, but apparently not. If topping it off doesn't fix it, you might have a problem with the washer motor itself, but the low fluid is the most likely culprit. I'd suggest visiting a workshop; I don't think you can do much yourself.

Just wanted to give a quick update. The wiper fluid was indeed the culprit. I feel a bit silly, but at least it was a cheap fix 25€ for a refill at the workshop. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my Mini Roadster. The dashboard light came on, and I couldn't get the windshield cleaning to work. First thing to check is the wiper fluid level. It sounds obvious, but these cars can be sensitive. The washer motor won't work if the fluid level is too low, even if it's not completely empty. Fluid level is how much wiper water you have in the reservoir.
