Mirai reduced engine power

I'm having a perplexing issue with my 2017 Toyota Mirai electric. I've noticed a significant reduction in engine power, accompanied by an error indication and fault codes. I suspect a faulty chip tuning. Has anyone else experienced something similar with their Mirai?

I drive a Toyota Mirai as well. I had a similar issue a while back – reduced power and a fault code. Did you try resetting the ECU to see if the error clears?

I attempted to reset the ECU via the scan tool, but the fault code reappears shortly after. Is there anything else you tried before taking yours in for service? Perhaps a specific diagnostic code that might shed some light?

Nah, after the ECU reset didn't work I knew it was beyond my skillset. I'd suggest taking it to a trusted workshop that deals with electric vehicles; they'll be able to properly diagnose and repair the issue. It’s better than potentially causing more damage.

For those who encounter a similar issue, the fault code was indeed related to a third-party chip tuning problem as I suspected. I took it to a reputable workshop, and they recalibrated the system. The repair cost was 180€, and the car is running smoothly now.
