Mistra Bypass Valve Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Hyundai Mistra is experiencing a bypass valve error, leading to engine overheating and concerns about potential vacuum leaks causing power loss or stalling. The issue may not be the bypass valve itself but rather a sensor failure triggering the error. Scanning for all error codes is recommended to identify the root cause, which in this case was confirmed to be a sensor issue, resolved without cost at a workshop.

Thanks. Regarding consequential errors, what specifically should I be looking for beyond the bypass valve itself? Is there a component or system that might trigger a false bypass valve error?

In my case, the bypass valve error was a symptom, not the root cause. Get the car scanned for all error codes. It's likely a sensor failure. Based on that it's best to go to a workshop.

I appreciate the insight. You were right; it was a sensor issue triggering everything. Took it in, and it was fixed for 0€. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my 2015 Opel Astra. Same error code, overheating. Check for consequential errors – is anything else triggering the bypass valve issue?
