Mistra uneven idle defective engine mount
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Mistra with 81,445 km was experiencing uneven idling, almost stalling, with a diagnostic error indicating a defective engine mount. The issue was suspected to be related to a defective cable or plug connection, which could have stressed the engine mount. Upon inspection at a workshop, it was confirmed that a defective cable led to the premature failure of the engine mount. Replacing both the cable and the engine mount resolved the issue, resulting in smooth operation.

I didn't see any obvious cracks in the rubber mount, but it's hard to get a good look without taking everything apart. Where should I be looking for damage to the cable or plug connection? Any tips?

If you can't see any physical damage, it's hard to diagnose further without proper tools. The error code might indicate which cable or plug is the problem. A defective cable or plug connection for the component is the likely cause. Given the symptoms and error code, and since you're not seeing anything obvious, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper inspection. It might save you a lot of headache.

I brought it to a workshop. You were spot on! It was a defective cable leading to the engine mount, which caused the mount itself to fail prematurely. They replaced the cable and the engine mount, and it cost me 95€. The car runs perfectly smoothly now! Thank you so much!

Engine mounts can definitely cause uneven idling if they're failing. The error code likely confirms that. The cable or plug connection fault is interesting though. Maybe that's the root cause that stressed the engine mount? Is the rubber mount visibly damaged or cracked?
