Mobi Overheating Electric Fan
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Mobi is experiencing overheating issues, suspected to be related to the electric fan, possibly due to a faulty cable or plug. The fan spins freely by hand, suggesting the motor might not be the issue. A similar case suggested that a faulty connection could lead to further damage, and professional diagnosis is recommended to avoid additional repairs. Taking the car to a workshop for proper assessment and repair is advised.

I tried spinning the fan by hand, and it seems okay. So, if it's not the motor itself and the connection seems like the likely cause, what did you do when you had this problem?

Given the symptoms, my cautious advice is to get a professional opinion before causing further damage. In my case, the faulty connection shorted something else, and I ended up with additional repairs. Based on my experience, expect to pay around 95€, but it could be more depending on the extent of the damage. A mechanic can properly diagnose and fix the wiring. Don't want you to end up in a worse situation.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I think you're right, better safe than sorry. I'll take it to the workshop and let them sort it out. Hopefully, it's just a simple fix and nothing too expensive.

I had a similar experience with my Mobi. Overheating is a serious concern. Did you check the fan motor itself? Sometimes the brushes wear out. The cable or plug could be the culprit, but does the fan spin freely by hand when the engine is off?
